Spring Valley chief building inspector, Ramapo businessman indicted

NEW CITY – An 18-count indictment was handed up in Rockland County
Court on Monday against Walter Booker, 64, of Spring Valley, the village’s
chief building inspector. He is accused of issuing false certificates
of occupancy for another man’s residence.

That man, Jacob Goldman, 48, of Spring Valley, was indicted on three counts
each of grand larceny and offering a false instrument for filing, all
as felonies.

Booker was indicted on three counts each of grand larceny, falsifying
business records, issuing a false certificate, and official misconduct.

Booker is also accused of filing false certificates which aided the owner
of his property and their associated corporation to unlawfully receive
income via operating a daycare center/school at the locations.

If convicted, they each face up to seven years in state prison.
