Man jumps to his death from Stony Point bridge

STONY POINT – A 24-year-old Stony Point man is dead following his jump from the James A. Farley Bridge in Stony Point.
Stony Point Town Police said witnesses told them the man jumped from the bridge at around 1:23 a.m. on Saturday. His body was recovered inside Charles Eccher Park below.
Police said the death did not appear to be suspicious; however, an autopsy will be conducted by the Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Stony Point Police were assisted by Haverstraw Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and BCI, State Park Police, Wayne Hose Fire Department, Rockland Paramedics and Rockland County Medical Examiner’s Office.
