Teen killed in Ulster crash

KINGSTON – A teenage driver was killed when his car left Route 28 in the Town of Olive and struck a utility pole.
State Police said Damein Kovacs, 16, was westbound when he ran off the road near the intersection with Dubois Road.  Kovacs died at the scene.
An eight-year-old passenger was treated at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston for minor injuries and released.
State Police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call them at 845-338-1702.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Town of Olive Fire Department, Town of Olive First Aid, Mobil Life Support Services ambulance, Town of Olive Police, West Hurley Fire Department, Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and New York City Department of Environmental Protection.
