MARBLETOWN – A Town of Marbletown Highway Department worker sustained a serious leg injury when he became pinned between a roller and a paver while resurfacing asphalt on Whitfield Road on Monday.
State Police said the operator of the paver, Daniel Styles, was standing on the operating platform of the device when another town worker who was operating a compacting roller, failed to observe the roller and the paver, causing the serious injury.  Styles was flown to Albany Medical Center and was listed in serious but stable condition on Tuesday.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Kripplebush Fire Department, Marbletown First Aid, Mobile Life Support Services and Life Net.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
