SCUBA divers continue Hudson River search for Bear Mount Bridge jumper

CORTLANDT – SCUBA divers continue to search the Hudson River near
the Bear Mountain Bridge following a report of a man who had jumped off
the bridge Sunday evening.

State Police at Cortlandt said the preliminary investigation indicates
that a 27-year-old Pomona man had stopped his vehicle in the driving lane
and jumped over the southern railing of the bridge into the Hudson.

The tentative victim identification was made by evidence recovered from
the victim’s car.

The investigation into the apparent suicide is continuing.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Rockland County Sheriff’s
Office, State Park Police, Continental Village Fire Department and Fort
Montgomery Fire Department.
