NEWBURGH – One person was
shot in the hip when a car drove by an outside BBQ and opened fire on
a group of people Sunday at around 6:06 p.m.
Witnesses told police that an off-white vehicle drove by a large group
of residents enjoying the BBQ when someone in the car opened fire shooting
several shots at the group. The vehicle then fled.
The 26-year-old gunshot victim, a Newburgh resident, was transported to
the hospital by a family member. He was treated and released with his
injuries not believed to be life threatening.
