Pine Bush High School teacher charged with smacking student

TOWN OF CRAWFORD – Town Police in Crawford arrested a Pine Bush High School teacher and charged her with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
On April 7 while performing her duties as a teacher, Marie Mannion, 62, of Circleville, allegedly struck a 15-year-old male student in the back of the head with an open hand. Her actions occurred in a classroom with about 24 other students present. Police said it was unprovoked and resulted in the victim to complain of a headache.
Mannion surrendered with her attorney, was charged and released on an appearance ticket.
Crawford Police were assisted by the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
