Two arrested in Port Jervis drug raid

PORT JERVIS – Armed with a no-knock search warrant, police arrested two people on drug charges. The raid on an apartment at 36 Church Street in Port Jervis, conducted by Port Jervis City Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group on Saturday resulted in the arrest of Sheldon Cooper, 30, and Timeasha Smedley, 20, both of that address.
Cooper was charged with three counts of criminal possession of drugs with intent to sell and one count of criminal possession, all as felonies, and misdemeanors of drug possession and criminally using drug paraphernalia.  He is in the Orange County Jail without bail.
Smedley was charged with misdemeanor drug possession. She was released on her own recognizance.
Police recovered cash, 22 grams of crack cocaine and powder cocaine, three grams of heroin, a scale and packaging materials during the search.
The arrests were based on a several month undercover investigation into the distribution of heroin and crack cocaine in the City of Port Jervis and the Tri-State region of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
