Petraeus, right, posed with Orange County
District Attorney David Hoovler

NEW WINDSOR — Retired General David Petraeus must have used his stealth military training as he snuck into Orange County on Thursday and went unnoticed except for the couple of hundred notables who paid $150 apiece to hear him speak at a dinner Thursday evening.
The event was to benefit the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in New Windsor.
Petraeus is a native of Cornwall and has been back in recent years for public forums, but for whatever unknown reason, this event was kept a secret.  In fact, when a Mid-Hudson News reporter showed up at the dinner, he was turned away, being told that it was a private function.
