GOSHEN – The Democrats have yet to field candidates to challenge the region’s longest-serving state senators, William Larkin and John Bonacic, both Republicans.
Orange County Legislator Christopher Eachus, who previously challenged Larkin, is considering another run.
Bonacic had a challenger, but that potential candidate has decided not to run.
“It seems like Bill Herrmann from Sullivan County was interested, but decided to focus his attention at this point on the local issues in Mamakating and Bloomingburg,” Orange County Democratic Chairman Brett Broge said.  “So, at this point in time, no one else has formally stepped out.”
Candidates still have plenty of time to get on the November ballot as petitions do not have to be filed with the board of elections until mid-July.
