Ulster man charged with threatening with an ax

WAWARSING – A Napanoch man was arrested following an incident late Monday afternoon during which he allegedly approached others in an aggressive manner while wielding an ax.
David Edwards, 17, was charged after the incident in the area of Route 55 near the Rondout Reservoir in the Town of Wawarsing.  He was also accused of causing damage to a motor vehicle belonging to one of the victims.
Edwards was sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  A full stay-away order of protection was issued on behalf of the victims.
State Police and New York City Department of Environmental Protection Police assisted Ulster County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene.
