CENTRAL VALLEY – Now that the state budget has been resolved, Assemblyman James Skoufis (D, Woodbury) said he will give serious consideration to his political future this fall.
He can seek reelection or run, as has been speculated, for the State Senate seat currently held by long-time Senator William Larkin (R, Cornwall-on-Hudson).
Skoufis will be consulting with political advisors, family and friends about his political plans.
“Certainly I think 2016 is going to be a good election for many people,” he said. “I think New York State government needs a change on many levels so I am going to be looking at all my options – those are the two options.”
While Larkin, who is 88, has not made a formal announcement that he will seek another term, he told MidHudsonNews.com months ago that he would run again.
