TOWN OF WALLKILL – The Town of Wallkill is home to a large solar farm partially powering the Presidential Packaging Company facility and with interest growing in the alternative, sustainable power source, the town board is considering a law to regulate the size of those facilities.
Town Supervisor Daniel Depew said under the plan, the size of the facilities would be controlled.
“It can say that you can have a solar farm that is no greater than two percent of the total size of your property and at the same time, you cannot have a solar farm that is greater than 10 acres,” Depew said.
The Wallkill board will also adopt a local law to regulate the number and location of billboards in the town.
