Second suspect in Newburgh attempted murder is captured

NEWBURGH – A second man wanted for attempted murder by Newburgh
City Police was arrested late Sunday afternoon in Middletown.

Richard Vallejo, 28, of Newburgh
was turned over to Newburgh Police where he was charged with attempted
murder and a parole violation.

Arrested shortly after the attack on March 30, Newburgh Police arrested
Kelsin Rivera, 30, of Newburgh and were searching for Vallejo.

Both men are alleged to have beaten another Newburgh man at his 1 Lake
Drive apartment in the city.

The victim was taken to St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital for treatment.
