POUGHKEEPSIE – The Dutchess County Partnership for Manageable Growth is going to provide $935,855 to permanently protect six farms in the county, preserving agriculture into the future.
County Executive Marcus Molinaro said the program, which was created some time ago, was geared toward protecting agriculture and farmland.
“One year ago we strengthened the program to assist farmers in preserving the industry,” Molinaro said. “This effort helps us protect a number of farms throughout Dutchess County in an effort to preserve and grow the industry and provide these farmers and these farms much needed assistance in remaining farms and remaining productive.”
Projects receiving funding in 2016 are:

Caora Farm in the Town of North East
Chaseholm Farm in the Town of Pine Plains
Duncandale Farm in the Town of North East
Steel/Great Song Farm in the Town of Milan
Manne Farm in the Town of East Fishkill
Locust Grove Farm in the Town of Pleasant Valley
Partnering with the county to cover the cost of the permanent easements are Dutchess Land Conservancy, Scenic Hudson and Columbia Land Conservancy.
