NEW WINDSOR  – Security at JFK and LaGuardia Airports has been beefed up with additional police and National Guardsmen following the terrorist attacks on Brussels’ airport and a subway station Tuesday morning that killed and wounded dozens.
At Stewart Airport near Newburgh where State Police Troop F handles security
at the terminal, Commander Major Joseph Tripodo said troopers are stepping
up security.
“While there is no known credible threat to Stewart Airport in light of what happened in Brussels, we are obviously ramping up our awareness and vigilance at the airport,” he said. “We will generally increase our visible presence and work closely with our local partners for optimal security.”
Tripodo emphasized the need for the public to keep their eyes open wherever they are and if they see something, say something.
