Wolfe: “… millions of dollars in
potential impact …”

NEW CITY – The Rockland County Legislature may have approved new contracts for the county’s CSEA and Rockland Association of Management, but while they are the first new agreements in years, they will both expire in just a couple of months.
Legislature Chairman Alden Wolfe said that will lead to financial uncertainties for the county in the future.
“Right now what we are focusing on is we are getting proposals from the administration on how we are going to pay for it in 2016,” Wolfe said. “These are not our only contracts and there is a very small amount that was budgeted by the administration as a reserve for contractual obligations, only $350,000. It’s going to be millions of dollars in potential impact in 2016.”
County Executive Edwin Day called the contracts “fair and responsible agreements that keep our county on a sustainable fiscal path.” He pledged to sign the contracts for both unions.
