Shooting death of family dog under investigation

GALLATIN – State Police in Columbia County are investigating the death of a Siberian husky that was shot and later died.
On February 20, State Police at Livingston began an investigation into the shooting death of the dog which had gotten off his lead on February 18.
The animal was located later that evening by a family member in a wooded area behind their home with a leg injury. During the overnight hours, the dog died of his injuries.
An animal hospital evaluated the dog and discovered he had been shot with a small caliber firearm.
