GOSHEN – Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler Monday announced a partnership with the national Uncommon Athlete program to help prevent bullying in athletics and schools.
On Friday, former Texas Tech University and Tennessee Titans quarterback Cody Hodges will join Hoovler to discuss the program.
“Over the past few years, Orange County has had several bullying incidents at local schools and in our community,” the DA said. “This program provides character building and education for student-athletes, coaches and administrators. It fits right into our crime prevention model.”
County Executive Steven Neuhaus said that bullying and hazing have “become prevalent in our schools.” The Uncommon Athlete program “serves as a great tool to bring more awareness to this important issue.”
