KINGSTON – A Town of Ulster man was arrested Tuesday morning by Kingston City Police for possession of a loaded 9 mm handgun.
Francis Ross Carey was a passenger in a car that was stopped for having a suspended registration. When officers conducted an investigation at North Front Street and Washington Avenue, they found a substantial amount of 9mm ammunition, marijuana and packaging. Officers then found Carey in possession of the gun.
He was charged with two felonies of criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor of criminal possession of marijuana.
Following arraignment, Carey was committed to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
