NEW PALTZ – The $52.9 million capital project in the New Paltz Central School District is moving forward in various planning stages.
Some of the components of the projects have been started. The plan has been divided into smaller projects; each one must go through five phases before work is complete, said Superintendent Maria Rice.
“From the $52.9 million project, we have broken it down into 11 sub-projects and each of the sub-projects needs to be submitted to State Ed, then approved, and then it goes through the whole bidding process and then the bids get awarded and then the construction comes, so until that project is completed, we are not in the phase of borrowing money until we start the construction,” Rice said.
The comprehensive facilities upgrades will cover all of the school buildings in the district.
