KINGSTON – A 30-year-old Kingston man was committed to the Ulster
County Jail without bail on a charge of felony rape for assaulting an
acquaintance, city police said Tuesday.
Rene Ocasio of Clinton Avenue met the 31-year-old woman as she walked
home on Oak Street around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 6. It is alleged
Ocasio, who she knew for some time, forced her into a Clinton Avenue residence
and forcibly raped her.
The victim was able to leave after the incident and contacted police a
short time later.
Ocasio was arrested by Kingston officers around 2:50 a.m. on Sunday.
