TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police agencies Monday morning investigated another phoned in bomb threat to the Maple Hill Elementary School in the enlarged Middletown City School District. The call came in minutes before 10 a.m. from an automated voice saying a person was inside the school and was going to blow up children and the school.
The school was placed in lockdown.
Wallkill Town and City of Middletown Police along with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigated using a K-9 unit checking for a potential bomb at the school on Orange County Route 78 in Wallkill.  A detailed interior and exterior search of the building and grounds disclosed no weapons or responsible persons.
There were no injuries and the lockdown was lifted at about 11:42 a.m.
This is the latest in a series of threatening calls to the Middletown district in recent weeks and months and the FBI has joined in the investigation.
