Woman charged with firing rifle during Saugerties domestic dispute

SAUGERTIES – Police in Saugerties have arrested a Bayside, Queens
woman for allegedly firing an AR15 rifle inside 15 Spaulding Lane in the
Town of Saugerties during a domestic dispute.

The incident was called into police at 11:22 p.m. on Sunday, February
7.

Police investigation determined a man had been in an argument with his
girlfriend, later identified as Marisa Scarrone, 33, of Queens and that
she fired two rounds from the rifle in the same room in which the two
were arguing. She fled on foot prior to the police arriving, but a short
time later was apprehended in a wooded area.

An investigation found several bullet holes in a couch and wall in the
residence. Scarrone was charged with reckless endangerment as a felony
and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.

Saugerties Police were assisted by the State Police, Ulster County Sheriff’s
Office and investigators from the Ulster County District Attorney’s
Office. Police are continuing their investigation and additional charges
are pending.
