LOCH SHELDRAKE – SUNY Sullivan President Dr. Karin Hilgersom, who was among the three finalist candidates for the presidency of Phoenix College in Arizona, will not be leaving, Sullivan officials said Monday.
Dr. Rufus Glasper, chancellor of the Maricopa Community District, who oversees Phoenix College and nine other community colleges, announces his retirement during the search process.
As a result, he closed the search so that his full-time successor, when hired, will have the authority to select the next president of Phoenix College.
Hilgersom declined comment.
This is the second time in less than 12 months that the Sullivan president had applied for another college presidency and in both cases made it to the final cut.
