POMONA – The Rockland County Government unit of the CSEA, representing
1,300 workers, finally has a contract. The three-year pact is retroactive
to January 1, 2014 and runs through just July 31 of this year.

Union spokeswoman Jessica Ladlee said it is a good first step for CSEA
members to get caught up.

“We have been working without a contract in Rockland County for
some time, so this contract agreement runs through July of 2016 so it’s
retroactive to the beginning of 2014 and it’s basically catching
the employees up and we will be starting negotiations for a successor
agreement sometime this year,” he said.
The newly approved agreement calls for a one-time addition of four vacation
days; a pensionable $750 lump sum payment in March; a 35-cent hourly increase
effective this January 1 and an additional 30-cent-hourly increase effective
this July 1, and improvements to workers’ vision plan.
