TOWN OF WALLKILL – Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps crew members Adam Strong and Richard Zolli may be honorary uncles now that they brought Centa Jarred into the world just before 9 p.m. on January 26.
The ambulance corps members responded to a call for a 30-year-old woman
in labor and when they arrived near the Circleville home of Kelli Curran
and her husband, Steven Jarred, they were about to drive to Orange Regional
Medical Center.
Centa didn’t wait and Strong and Zolli delivered the baby at the 30-week mark, right on the front seat of the couple’s sedan.
Wallkill Police Sergeant Robert McLymore and Officer Joseph Stueber also assisted in the delivery.
Mother and daughter are reported doing fine, said TOWVAC Administrative Director Teri Barbee, who said this was only the third delivery by a TOWVAC crew in the last 10 years, and the first for both ambulance corps members.
