GOSHEN – The Orange County Legislature will create the position of recycling coordinator in the next several weeks.
The Personnel Committee has already given its unanimous consent to the proposal. Chairman John Vero noted the position is in the 2016 county budget.
“We are going to be coordinating a lot of things with the local municipalities, with the school districts and businesses, too, and hopefully get some money coming in and who knows, maybe we will be able to pay for the whole position in the long term,” he said.
Vero said half of the roughly $50,000 annually salary will be paid for by the state.
