Brothers die in Rosendale crash

ROSENDALE – Twin brothers
were killed Wednesday when the pickup truck in which they were riding
ran off a road and struck a tree.  The crash at 2:20 p.m. occurred
on Lucas Avenue near the intersection of Tan House Brook Road in the Town
of Rosendale.
The driver, Ronald Myroniuk, 58, of Cottekill, was found unconscious and trapped in the vehicle. He was extricated by firefighters and pronounced dead at the scene.
The front seat passenger, Robert Myroniuk, 58 and from Cottekill, was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where he died in the evening.
Police said neither man was wearing a seatbelt, although the driver’s airbag did deploy.
Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 845-338-3640.
Rosendale Town Police and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office investigated.  The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by ‘Town of Rosendale Police, fire departments from Cottekill, High Falls, Stone Ridge and Marbletown, and Mobile Life Support Ambulance Service.
