WHITE PLAINS – A mother pled guilty in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to criminally negligent homicide in connect with the death of her six-year-old daughter, Lacey Carr.
Kathleen Dymes, 53, of Croton-on-Hudson also pled guilty to charges of endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both as misdemeanors.  She faces up to four years in prison when sentenced in April.
On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015 at about 1:09 p.m., Croton-on-Hudson Police received a 911 call from David Carr, the child’s father, requesting police to respond to Dymes’ address. He reported that his daughter was cold and non-responsive.
Officers found her in bed unresponsive and not breathing and her mother, kneeling at the side of the bed on the floor, also not responsive.
Lacey was pronounced dead 10 minutes later.
A search warrant executed later in the day turned up an open bottle of alcohol along with several over-the-counter, prescription and illegal drugs strewn around the room. Police also found two handwritten notes in the room.
Bail for Dymes was set at $25,000.
