Three sought in violent Ellenville home invasion robbery

ELLENVILLE – Police are
looking for three men who broke into an Ellenville apartment late Thursday
night, January 7, attacked and robbed a man and woman, and four children,
ages one, eight, nine and 11.

The suspects in the break-in at 15 Backman Avenue, Apartment 2B at 10:15
p.m., pistol-whipped the male victim, tied up both the man and woman,
and then bound three of four children in the apartment.

They were all held at gunpoint where they were threatened for an hour.

The suspects stole an undetermined amount of cash and property before
fleeing to a waiting vehicle and left heading west on Backman Avenue toward
Route 209.

The suspects were described as two Hispanic men and a third, possibly
black or Hispanic. They all wore ski masks. Two of the men carried handguns
while the third had a shotgun.

Ellenville Village Police, State Police and the Ulster County Sheriff’s
Office are investigating the attack and ask anyone with information to
call 845-647-4422. All calls will be kept confidential.
