Dr. Bryant

NYACK – Dr. Willie Bryant was a dentist, community organizer and human rights advocate in the region for more than 45 years.
The Nyack resident, who died on December 28 at age 77, will be remembered at a funeral service Saturday at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Nyack.
Friends and colleagues remember him for his efforts to erect the Thurgood Marshall Monument in Hillburn to recognize the late US Supreme Court Justice’s work to successfully integrate the Hillburn school system in 1943.
Dr. Bryant was inducted into the Rockland County Human Rights/Civil Rights Hall
of Fame in 2008, was named Rockland’s Alpha Man of the Year in 2004,
