ESOPUS – State Police
in Highland have arrested three people on charges that they possessed
guns and illegal drugs.
The arrests were made following an investigation and execution of a search
warrant at an apartment on Route 9W in the Town of Esopus.
Arrested were Benjamin Chapman, 23, of Route 9W in West Point; Abraham
Penn, 18, of Cleveland, Ohio; and Selene Shumate, 18, of Sandusky, Ohio.
They were all charged with criminal possession of a weapon for possessing
a revolver and criminal possession of stolen property. Chapman was also
charged with possession of marijuana and another county of weapon possession.
Chapman was remanded to the Ulster County Jail with no bail. Penn and
Shumate were remanded on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond each.
