CARMEL – A Putnam Valley man is facing felony charges following a criminal investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
On December 5, 2015, a Carmel resident reported her purse and credit cards had been stolen from her vehicle overnight. It was later determined that whoever stole it had used the stolen credit cards to purchase merchandise at a number of locations.
An investigation revealed the identity of the suspect as Thomas Reilly, 21, of 426 Pudding Street in Putnam Valley.
On December 12, members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation located and arrested Reilly, who was charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both as felonies.  He was sent to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash or bond.
If found guilty of the felony charges, Reilly could face up to four years in state prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
