State provides grants to area county public safety answering points

ALBANY – Hudson Valley counties are the recipients of new state grants to support their emergency 911 public safety answering points.  The annual grant allows for state reimbursement to counties for eligible public safety call-taking and dispatching expenses.
The funds are distributed based on statistics reflective of a county’s operational scope, demographic factors, and emergency services call metrics.
State grants for the 2015-2016 state budget year include the following county awards:

Greene                $151,052
Orange                $177,823
Putnam                $126,883
Rockland              $227,942
Sullivan                $155,289
Ulster                   $154,511
Westchester        $165,620
