STEWART AIRPORT – The body of Tech Sgt. Joseph Lemm, one of two
Stewart Air National Guard members who were among six soldiers killed
in a suicide bombing in Afghanistan over a week ago, will be flown into
the Stewart base on Monday afternoon (today) for a military ceremony.
Lemm, who lived in West Harrison, was killed along with fellow Guardsman Michael Bonacasa, of Long Island.
Following the service at 105th Airlift Wing base, there will be a flyover by the NYPD Aviation Unit.  A motorcade transporting Sgt. Lemm’s body to New York City will follow the Stewart ceremony.
In addition to his Air Guard duties, Lemm was a 15-year member of the New York City Police Department.
Lemm, who was 45, was a member of Stewart Guard in 2008. Bonacasa, 30, joined the 105th in 2010.
