Two Orange County men charged with burglarizing Ulster convenience store

PLATTEKILL – Two men, one from Chester and the other from Monroe, wre arrested and charged with felony burglary for allegedly burglarizing a gas station/convenient store in the Town of Plattekill.
They were caught when Village of Chester Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the two men, Joshua Edwards, 30, of Chester, and Justin Hallas, 29, of Monroe. They were found in possession of several cartons of cigarettes and other proceeds that were indicative of a theft, including receipts to a specific convenient mart in Plattekill.
Investigation by State Police at Highland BCI and uniformed patrols confirmed the store on Route 32 in Plattekill had been broken into earlier on the same date – Tuesday, December 22.
Both men are in the Ulster County Jail.   Bail for Hallas was set at $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.  Edwards is held without bail.
