Plea agreement in armed robbery expected to land man in prison for 11 years

MONTICELLO – A White Sulphur Springs man is expected to receive 11 ½ years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision when sentenced in Sullivan County Court. James Letohic, 32, pled guilty to robbery and burglary as part of a negotiated deal.
District Attorney James Farrell said Letohic admitted to robbing another man by threatening him with a knife and taking $800 in cash in June 2014 in the Town of Mamakating. The victim was not injured.
Letohic also admitted to burglarizing an unoccupied residence on Red Hill Road in Mamakating on June 26, 2014 and stealing appliances and copper pipe.
He was arrested on October 30, 2014 after an investigation by State Police.
Letohic is also expected to be ordered to pay $1,900 in restitution to his victims and orders of protection will be issued for them.
