POMONA – Ramapo Town Police identified the man struck and killed while riding his bicycle late Monday night as William “Matt” George, 53, of Pomona.
When police were called to the location on Route 202 in Pomona on Tuesday, they found George face down on the far side of the guard rail. He was rushed to the hospital where he died a short time later.
There were no other vehicles at the scene, but police said evidence left indicated he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. The vehicle is believed to be an early 2000 model Chevrolet Suburban, possibly a Tahoe or pickup, and was dark in color, possibly blue.  The vehicle should have damage to the front end or front passenger side.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Ramapo Police Department at 845-357-2400.
