GOSHEN – Bids to reconstruct
the Orange County Government Center in Goshen will be opened tomorrow
with the awarding of the winning bid in mid-January.
County Legislature Physical Services Committee Chairman Barry Cheney
said the project will remain on track.
“The expectation is the contractors will have to get their paperwork in, their bonds, and then the county attorney’s office will be working on the contracts themselves and pull everything together and hopefully get that all signed, sealed and delivered by the middle of January,” Cheney said.
Another company, Holt Construction, was hired to demolish the center section of the building. That work is virtually complete, making way for the construction of a new center section and redevelopment of the other two wings of the building.
The project is expected to be substantially completed by July 2017.
