NEW CITY – A New City man was arrested in Rockland County on a felony charge of grand larceny.
District Attorney Thomas Zugibe said Joseph Ruback, 46, “used threats and intimidation to collect debts and charged usurious interest rates on outstanding debts.” The DA said the arrest “sends a loud and clear message that law enforcement will keep up the pressure on those involved in this type of criminality.”
Ruback, who has gained notoriety as New York Giants superfan “License Plate Guy,” was arrested on Thursday by detectives with the Organized Crime Unit, a division of the DA’s Regional Investigative Resource Center. He was sent to the Rockland County Jail in lieu $2,000 bail.
