ELMSFORD – Pets Alive, the Town of Wallkill-headquartered animal shelter, will hand back to the Town of Greenburgh its former location in the Elmsford area of the town. It consolidated all of its operations to Wallkill recently because the Elmsford facility was in a serious state of disrepair.
The Town of Greenburgh, which owned the site before selling it to Pets Alive for $10, will take it back and turn it over almost immediately to another animal shelter, said Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
“There is another facility, another no-kill shelter, Paws Crossed,” he said.  “They have a lot of volunteers, a lot of passion, a lot of enthusiasm, and we are going to take it back for about a minute or two and then we are going to turn it over to the no-kill shelter.”
Feiner said Paws Crossed will raise the funds to make repairs and in the meantime, use temporary facilities to house the cats and dogs.
