New jobs up again in Hudson Valley

ALBANY – The number of new jobs created in the Hudson Valley during the 12-month period ending in November grew by 1.1 percent, or 8,200.
The largest gain, at 1.8 percent, was in the Orange-Rockland-Westchester
Metropolitan Division while jobs grew in Sullivan and Ulster counties
by 1.1 percent each. Greene County saw a 1.0 percent increase in new jobs
while Columbia County had no job gain.
The Dutchess-PUtnam region lost 2.5 percent of its jobs.
Across the region, jobs were added in educational and health services; natural resources, mining and construction; other services; and manufacturing.
Job losses were centered in trade, transportation and utilities; leisure and hospitality; and financial activities. The government shed 1,400 jobs over the period.
