Dr. Michael Nesheiwat
CARMEL – Dr. Michael Nesheiwat has been named as the acting commissioner
of the Putnam County Health Department. He replaces Dr. Allen Beals whose
recent departure was not announced.
This is the second time he assisted the county health department through
a period of transition in leadership.
Nesheiwat has been a physician in family practice for years and has been
“an asset to the Putnam County community for many years,”
said County Executive MaryEllen Odell.
“Dr. Nesheiwat has always been there for Putnam County through the
many roles he has played,” said former County Executive and current
Personnel Director Paul Eldridge. “In my short stint as county executive,
I tapped Dr. Nesheiwat to serve as our medical consultant when Dr. Amler
went to serve as commissioner for Westchester County, and Dr. Nesheiwat
was there for us.”
