Moronta
WHITE PLAINS – A Tarrytown teen, who is charged in connection with
the stabbing death of a man inside Barnhart Park in Sleepy Hollow, was
arraigned on Tuesday in Westchester County Court on charges of murder,
tampering with physical evidence and criminal possession of a weapon.
Berinzon Moronta, 17, of Tarrytown, was charged after an investigation
determined that Moronta and others went to the park with the express purpose
of locating and injuring the victim Tahj Robinson. He was found with several
stab wounds at around 11:12 p.m. on October 9, 2015 and died less than
an hour later.
Moronta was arrested the following day by Westchester County and Sleepy
Hollow Police.
He is being held without bail.
If convicted, Moronta faces up to 25 years to life in prison.
