CARMEL – Four people were arrested by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office as the result of a three-month investigation into heroin trafficking in Mahopac.
Thomas Simmons, 35, of 11 Steiner Drive in Mahopac was arrested on December 1 after he allegedly sold heroin to an undercover officer on several occasions. The latest sale occurred on that date when the officer paid $300 for heroin at a pre-arranged location on Route 22 in the Town of Patterson.  Simmons was charged with four counts each of criminal sale and criminal possession of drugs. He reportedly has an extensive record of prior arrests and is currently on parole from a state correctional facility.
Two other people who were with Simmons at the time of his arrests, Alyssa Feldman, 23, of Poughquag, and Joshua Fields, 27, of New Port Richie, Florida, were each charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of drugs and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Both reportedly have extensive prior criminal records.
After the three were arrested, authorities executed a search warrant at Simmons’ home and found narcotics, small weight scales and drug packaging materials, as well as seven firearms including a fully-loaded .380 caliber, semi-automatic pistol, a fully-loaded 12 gauge semi-automatic shotgun, and an AK-47 assault rifle loaded with a 30-round magazine.
Louis Carr, 50, who reportedly lives in same residence, was inside when it was raided. He was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanors of criminal possession of drugs, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child. Carr reportedly has a prior felony conviction.
Simmons was sent to the Putnam County Jail without bail. Carr was held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond but was released on December 3 after posting bond.
Fields’ bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.
Feldman was issued an appearance ticket on her charges and turned over to the Dutchess County Department of Probation, which had an arrest warrant for her on an unrelated charge.
