Kingston man arrested for Poughkeepsie burglary

POUGHKEEPSIE – A Kingston man was arrested for allegedly trying
to break into a residence on Lown Court in the City of Poughkeepsie just
before 11 a.m. on Friday.

Police were called to the scene for a report of a man in their porch trying
to open the house windows, , but he fled before officers arrived; however,
a short time later a subject matching his description was stopped a distance
away and was identified by the homeowner as the person who tried to break
into her home.

Anthony Johnson, 20, of Kingston, was brought to the Poughkeepsie police
headquarters where he admitted to Friday’s burglary and also a previous
burglary on November 28.

He was charged with two counts of felony burglary and criminal mischief.
