Three Ulster County men arrested on drug charges

KINGSTON – The Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics
Team has arrested three people following an investigation into drug sales.
As a result of an attempted arrest, an URGENT vehicle was struck and that
vehicle struck a police officer. He was treated at Kingston Hospital for
minor injuries.

Late on Thursday morning, police witnessed a drug transaction in the parking
lot of an East Chester Street gas station in the City of Kingston. When
they tried to take the suspects into custody, the car fled, striking the
police vehicle.

The occupants of the second car fled but the two people in the car that
struck the police vehicle were apprehended in Kingston. The driver, Bryan
Lober, 25, of Kingston, and a passenger, were taken into custody with
Lober being charged with felony criminal sale and possession of drugs,
resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, leaving the
scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident, aggravated unlicensed
operation of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and traffic infractions
including failure to comply with a police officer.

Lober is on parole for a previous burglary conviction. He was arraigned
and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
Also arrested were Erkan Deniz, 30, of Kingston and Tyler
Borey, 22, of Saugerties. Both were charged with misdemeanor drug possession
while Deniz was also charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic
instrument.

Borey is also on parole for a previous burglary conviction.

Deniz was arraigned in Kingston City Court as a fugitive from justice
from New Jersey and was remanded pending extradition. Borey was committed
for a violation of parole based on his current offense.
Police said additional charges may be filed.
