GOSHEN – A Central Valley
man pled guilty in Orange County Court to first-degree rape admitting
that in June he had sex with a nine-year-old girl.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office will recommend a sentence
of 14 years in state prison and 10 years of post-release supervision when
Erik Jarama is sentenced in February.
“Society must be protected from predators who abuse positions of
trust to victimize children,” said District Attorney David Hoovler.
“Children are the most vulnerable and most innocent of victims.
Those who victimize children deserve the severest of punishment.”
Hoovler said he is thankful that the victim in this case was spared the
additional trauma of having to testify about the crimes committed against
her.
Senior Assistant DA Kelle Grimmer prosecuted this case.
