Driver located in Monsey crash between SUV and coach bus

The SUV involved in the crash was totally destroyed

MONSEY – Ramapo Police are continuing their investigation into
a crash on Route 45 north of Williams Avenue in Monsey early Monday morning
involving an SUV and Monsey Lines coach bus.

There were no passengers on the bus.

The bus driver sustained minor injuries, but the driver of the SUV fled
the scene before the police arrived. He was located in the afternoon and
was being treated at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern for injuries he
sustained in the accident.

Police charged him with DWI.

The accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. and as of late morning, the SUV
driver had not been located.

The bus was inspected by the state Department of Transportation and no
violations were found.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, State and Spring Valley Police
and Hillcrest Fire Department were involved in the search and Spring Hill
Community ambulance Corps responded to the scene for medical assistance.
